What is the difference between the STANDARD and DELUXE mechanisms?
The STANDARD MECHANISM features two hinged wooden legs that are attached to the front of the bed. They are completely under the bed when the bed is lowered out of the bed cabinet.
The DELUXE MECHANISM features a tube-leg design used to build a murphy bed that utilizes a pair of metal tube legs. The tube legs are totally concealed inside the bed cabinet when it is closed and are manually rotated over the end of the bed face panel when it is lowered out of the cabinet.
What is the difference between the DELUXE and ADJUSTABLE DELUXE kits?
The Adjustable Deluxe Kit allows for easy balancing of your completed Create-A-Bed murphy bed.
With the simple turn of a wrench you are able to make a bed that is too heavy to close lighter or a bed that just won't sit in balance with ease - without even moving a pillow!
The finished dimensions of the DELUXE and ADJUSTABLE DELUXE murphy beds are identical.

How much does it cost to build a murphy bed?
After purchasing your murphy bed mechanism, you will need to purchase the wood separately at a home improvement store.
We strongly recommend using veneered plywood to build your bed cabinet and solid wood for the inner wood bed frame. The wood and other materials you'll need to purchase are all available at your local home improvement store and will cost around $300 to $400 depending on the size bed you are building.
Is wood included in the cost of the mechanism?
Wood is not included with the murphy bed mechanism. Your instructional booklet includes our recommendation for which wood to purchase as well as the exact cut specifications.
If you are unable to cut the wood yourself, associates at your local home improvement store will be able to cut the wood to the specifications in your instructional booklet. After that, simply assemble the bed using our instructions and mechanism.
